It’s hard for me to believe that I’ve been writing this blog for over a year now.  And the thought of over 2,000 people per month being even remotely interested in what I have to say is humbling.  While I am extremely proud of what The Stylish Planner has become, I know that it can be better.  It’s time to kick things up a notch!

In 2011, you will see formal advertising added to the blog, but only from companies that are really applicable to wedding professionals and the industry.  Advertising will be very exclusive – probably only 10 advertisers at a time and I will be very selective on advertisers and sponsored posts.  I have turned away legitimate advertisers all year long in part because I wasn’t ready to offer ads, but also because many companies coming to me are not relevant to our industry.  I hope you will like what you see!

Style Profiles will be streamlined and easier for you to submit.  In the past, I had one questionnaire for planners and one for “all other wedding professionals”.  This questionnaire will be consolidated for all wedding professionals and the photo submission process will be more clearly outlined.  Overall, it will be very easy for anyone to submit a profile.

Wednesdays are usually filled with thoughts on wellness here on The Stylish Planner, so today should be no different.  Although, I will confess that my thoughts tend to be more centered on what I will start doing after the Holidays rather than now!

Last week’s giveaway of  a couple of GREAT Seth Godin books was such a success – I thought I’d run it again.

My friends at SAGE Wedding Pros have a great list of recommended books to help wedding pros with their businesses.  I want to read every single book on the list – no joke!

Every Thursday, I love featuring one amazing wedding and event professional in a Style Profile.  I am currently streamlining this process, tweaking the questionnaire a bit and making the photo guidelines easier for people to submit.  The new info will post in early January.  I have found that this is the most read post of the week and feedback from professionals who have been profiled has been great as well.  It’s free, no one is turned away, and both the readers and I really enjoy getting to know you better.

So, I wanted to provide a little incentive to entice you to submit a Style Profile in the future.

Feathers were one of the Fall fashion trends for this year, and I for one am loving the use of feathers in accessories.  These two lovely little headbands can be yours…

All you have to do is e-mail me at info@thestylishplanner.com with a commitment to submit your Style Profile on any Thursday in January, February or March, 2011 (you choose the date and include it in your email).  I will forward you the questionnaire and guidelines as soon as they post online and remind you of your commitment in time for you to prepare it for your post date.

Rules:

• Contest is limited to the Continental United States.
• You must be a wedding and event professional.
• Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
• In order to qualify for each giveaway, you must adhere to the guidelines for that day, so please read the post carefully each day.  For instance, if the post indicates that you should comment on our Facebook Fan Page and you comment on the blog instead, your blog comment does not qualify for the giveaway.
• Giveaway items will be announced each day, not in advance.  (You can however, see a photo and prize list of most of the giveaway items at the top of this post.)  You may enter multiple times, but in order to be fair, once you have won a prize, you are disqualified from any further wins.  Each days topic is pretty fun and we love dialogue, so feel free to comment each day if you’d like, but multiple prizes will not be awarded to the same person.
• All prizes will be awarded by random drawing, with the exception of the Ugliest Christmas Sweater Contest.
• All contests will remain open for comments until 12:00 noon EST on December 30.  The winners for all 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways will be announced by 5:00 p.m. EST on December 30.
• All winners must email Jeannine at info@thestylishplanner.com by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 to acknowledge your win and include your mailing address.
• All prizes will be mailed out no later than Friday, January 7, 2011.
• I will attempt to make notifications to winners via Twitter, Facebook or email, in the same fashion that you were asked to leave your comment for that day’s giveaway.  However, please be sure to check the winners list that will post on 12/30 just in case you do not receive a personal notification.
• For the final contest day, a completed survey enters you in the drawing for that day.  Survey answers can be left anonymously, however, you must Tweet that you completed the survey so that I have your name.
