Have you heard?!

Thank you for visiting The Stylish Planner! There are exciting things happening with my businesses right now. How do you like the new blog makeover? Pretty nice, huh? (Thanks to Amber Housley for the awesome logo redesign and new background!) My wedding planning business is also experiencing great changes. I am so proud to announce Honeysuckle Wedding Company, a full service, planning, coordination, floral & event design, & vintage rentals company specializing in outdoor weddings across the Southeast. FAVOR Events will go bye-bye. Honeysuckle has been in the works for over 3 years now and is really what FAVOR Events should have been all along. The Stylish Planner will now be presented in more of a diary format. I'll share with you honestly and openly about my crazy life, sharing both personal and business stories as they happen. I've been compiling topics for a long time and I'm eager to get the blog underway again!

Last week’s giveaway of  a couple of GREAT Seth Godin books was such a success – I thought I’d run it again.

My friends at SAGE Wedding Pros have a great list of recommended books to help wedding pros with their businesses.  I want to read every single book on the list – no joke!

I literally wake up to a Seth Godin post in my email every morning.  To me, he has a unique way of looking at things, and I would never consider the same thoughts on my own without his direction.  Almost everything he writes creates a “light bulb” moment for me.  And I really love that he is succinct and not super wordy in his posts.

So, it is my pleasure to share with you today two Seth Godin book giveaways.  Two lucky winners will receive Seth’s book Linchpin and the accompanying workbook, Ship It

All you need to do is leave a comment below sharing your favorite business tool and why/how it has helped you.

Personally, I would have to answer that my American Express OPEN card has been crucial to my business.  There’s lots of other things that have helped me too, but this card is basically a readily available line of credit to me at any time that I need it, not to mention the great discounts it has afforded me over the last four years I’ve had the account.  I’m convinced that trying to run my business on any other card would have been a complete hassle.

What’s your favorite business tool?  It could be your iPad, an app, a software program you use for accounting, anything that you feel you could not function without.  I am always looking for ways to streamline, so I can’t wait to see these answers come in!

  • Giveaway items will be announced each day, not in advance.  (You can however, see a photo and prize list of most of the giveaway items at the top of this post.)  You may enter multiple times, but in order to be fair, once you have won a prize, you are disqualified from any further wins.  Each days topic is pretty fun and we love dialogue, so feel free to comment each day if you’d like, but multiple prizes will not be awarded to the same person.
  • All prizes will be awarded by random drawing, with the exception of the Ugliest Christmas Sweater Contest.
  • All contests will remain open for comments until 12:00 noon EST on December 30.  The winners for all 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways will be announced by 5:00 p.m. EST on December 30.
  • All winners must email Jeannine at info@thestylishplanner.com by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 to acknowledge your win and include your mailing address.
  • All prizes will be mailed out no later than Friday, January 7, 2011.
  • I will attempt to make notifications to winners via Twitter, Facebook or email, in the same fashion that you were asked to leave your comment for that day’s giveaway.  However, please be sure to check the winners list that will post on 12/30 just in case you do not receive a personal notification.
  • For the final contest day, a completed survey enters you in the drawing for that day.  Survey answers can be left anonymously, however, you must Tweet that you completed the survey so that I have your name.

    By far, my favorite business tool is Twitter! I have made so many new friends and learned so much from the shared info that I normally would never have seen (because I do not subscribe to that many blogs) and it has been instrumental in the changes in my business planning for 2011.
