top 5 reasons you want to be a featured planner March 04, 2010 posted in Featured Planners

Featured Planners Collage

1.  You will be among some of the most stylish, beautiful, strong and smart women that I know.  The above collage showcases just a few of the planners we have featured.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know them through working on their feature.  You can read their features by clicking here:  Featured Planners.

2.  It’s easy.  You fill out an interview questionnaire, choose a few photos to submit, make sure you meet the guidelines and e-mail me the info.  I plug you into the next available spot on the editorial calendar, create your style profile, post it and tweet it.  Click here for the guidelines and interview questions:  The Stylish Planner Featured Planner Guidelines.  It’s a great way to put your name out there at no cost to you.

2.  You WILL be featured – as long as you meet the guidelines.  I am not sitting here in my office looking at planners photos deciding who is feature-worthy and who isn’t.  I’m dedicated to featuring all planners, regardless of your style.  Our differences are what make us interesting.  You are unique and you have ideas to share.  Other planners want to hear from you.

3.  Planners really want to hear from you – the featured planner of the week post is the most read post of the week.  In February, The Stylish Planner received almost 1500 unique visitors, 600 of those visitors were on Thursdays, when I post the featured planner of the week.

4.  Being featured and reading other planners features makes the wedding/event planning world very small.  If you are planning on attending any continuing education seminars or workshops this year, you will have an opportunity to meet some of these lovely ladies.  Whether you are attending Making Things Happen 2010 Intensive, Academy for Planners & Designers, The Simple Plan, Eventology 2010, or the Get Real Sales Training Workshop, you can put a face with a name and get to know ladies in advance.  It makes it much easier to strike up a conversation and note shared interests, trust me.

5.  If only a few people retweet your feature, you are suddenly in front of a whole new group of people you otherwise would probably not be able to interact with.  Jen Wooster-McBride’s feature was spotted and retweeted “late breaking news style” by a new local area blog called Fashionably Columbus.  This created local interest in Jen and her company outside of the wedding/event industry.  Have the photographer that did your photos for your feature retweet the link and you are both getting recognition as well as new followers.

Are there any questions for planners that you’d like me to include in the questionnaire?  Any way I can make the submission process easier?  Let me know!

I look forward to receiving your submissions.  Please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions at all.  I can be reached at info@thestylishplanner.com.
